They Lied To You About Obamacare. Surprised?

Jonathan Gruber, one of the architects of Obamacare, has stated publicly that Obamacare is simply another tax, another form of income redistribution, and that it will not save any money, but instead cost more money.

He also said American voters are so stupid that the Obama administration had to lie to them to convince them to pass this law. Doesn’t that just make you feel good?

The video is here.

Here’s some fun quotes from him to make your day:

That was sometimes a misleading motivator for the Affordable Care Act. The law isn’t designed to save money. It’s designed to improve health, and that’s going to cost money.

if you had a law which said that healthy people are going to pay in – you made explicit healthy people pay in and sick people get money, it would not have passed… Lack of transparency is a huge political advantage.

call it the stupidity of the American voter or whatever, but basically that was really really critical for the thing to pass… Look, I wish Mark was right that we could make it all transparent, but I’d rather have this law than not.

Great. I’m so glad people like this are running the country. Aren’t you?

Just add this to:

George Bush Senior: “Read my lips! No new taxes!”

Bill Clinton: “There are no longer any Chinese nuclear weapons pointed at the United States.”  (There’s also “I did not have sexual relations with that woman,” but that doesn’t really affect you.)

George W. Bush: “Operations in Iraq have ended.”

Barack Obama: “If you like your doctor you can keep him. Period!”

Good times. Just keep right on voting for these people. I’m sure it will all work out.
