Great map right here that shows exactly which states Americans are moving to, and away from.
Not surprisingly, the states people are fleeing from are the high tax, high cost of living industrial states. The worst are New Jersey, Illinois, and New York.
Also not surprisingly, they are moving mostly towards low-tax states, like Nevada, Texas, both Carolinas, and Colorado.
See…this is what happens when you start taxing people too much. They leave. This is so painful for a lot of progressives to understand or admit.
Number one state people are moving TO? My home state of Oregon. Not that I’m a huge fan of Oregon…I live in Washington now, in order to take advantage of Washington’s zero income tax. (Though I’m still within easy driving distance of Oregon.)
If I had no children and didn’t live in this part of the country, I’d probably be in Nevada or New Hampshire, the two most libertarian states in the US (if there is such a thing).
